It’s summertime!! As a child, I spent hours in the sun and my blonde hair always became lighter. You probably have similar memories – jumping in pools, licking the dripping Popsicle off your arm, and the hot summer sun beating down on you. I’ll bet you noticed your hair became a lighter brown or a few blonde streaks showed up around the 4th of July.
Now that we’re grownups and spending hard-earned money on our hair color, summer isn’t quite as carefree for us. It doesn’t matter – we can still have fun.
When did you last purchase a great summer hat? If it’s been awhile, you may want to consider one of these options. Although the sun provides vitamin D and a warmth that draws us to patios and pools, it also damages the melanin in our hair and lightens it. There’s also the possibly of sun exposure turning your hair color brassy or just a little off. Of course, if you and I have worked to get that perfect shade you always wanted you don’t want the Denver sun messing up your color.
Wear a hat or stay under an umbrella as much as possible, but do enjoy your summer. Another helpful product to consider is Matrix Biolage Colorcaretherapie Hair Spray with UV protection.
Be kind to your hair and to yourself.
